Deceptive Practices

In the online world, “…deceptive practices are getting more sophisticated.” That’s according to a recent MediaPost article. And consumers are noticing.

It seems more and more consumers are encountering bogus product reviews, comments, articles and more. While this type of online chicanery may provide some brands with quick spike in consumer engagement, it could be far more damaging in the long haul.

The issue is trust. It can take a brand years…decades even…to build trust with consumers. “Deceptive practices” of any kind only serve to erode and ultimately destroy that trust.

Our Number One Golden Rule For Green Marketing is “Tell The Truth.” It’s pretty simple, really. Telling the truth builds trust. And it provides no quarter for “deceptive practices” of any kind.
